How do I get my BetMGM win/loss statement and W-2G forms?
By the W2gMatch team · Sources checked 09-11-2026 · General information, not tax advice.
Sign in to BetMGM and open My Account; W-2Gs and the End of Year Statement are under Tax Forms. The steps below were read from BetMGM's own help page on 09-05-2026. The statement covers every wager on the account; W-2Gs for reportable wins come separately, and the IRS already holds a copy of each.
What BetMGM issues, and when
A sportsbook issues a Form W-2G for a single wager that pays at least the reporting threshold ($2,000 for 2026) and at least 300 times the stake, with federal withholding on larger payouts. Most sports bets never qualify, so most winnings arrive with no form and are still taxable. Daily fantasy and promotional prizes come on a 1099-MISC instead.
Separately, BetMGM provides an annual win/loss or activity statement of every wager on the account: amount wagered, amount returned and the net, usually with a note that it is not a tax document. [1] W-2Gs are downloadable by January 31. Land-based MGM Rewards play is a separate request to MGM Resorts.
How to get the statement
Sign in to BetMGM and open My Account; W-2Gs and the End of Year Statement are under Tax Forms.
- Sign in to your BetMGM account (sportsbook or casino, in the state you play in).
- Open My Account and look for "Tax Forms" or "End of Year Statement".
- Download the End of Year Statement and any W-2G for the tax year.
- Save it for your preparer.
The account pages are usually reachable only from a state where BetMGM operates; a VPN or an out-of-state login can fail.
These steps were read from BetMGM's own page on 09-05-2026. [1] Operators move these pages; if a step no longer matches, the help page is the place to start.
What the statement shows, and what it does not
The statement is a summary of every wager on the account, so it is complete for the account, but it is one operator's view. Play elsewhere, and any play on a second account, is not on it. It usually carries a note that it is an estimate and not a tax document. The IRS asks for a contemporaneous diary supported by records such as statements and tickets; the statement supports the diary rather than replacing it. [2] [3]
Read it with the W-2Gs. A W-2G reports one reportable win and the IRS already holds a copy; the statement reports the net of the year's play. The two measure different things and are expected to disagree, and a return has to show how they fit. The reconciliation page walks through it.

Related questions
When is the BetMGM statement for last year available?
W-2Gs are downloadable by January 31. Land-based MGM Rewards play is a separate request to MGM Resorts.
Does the BetMGM statement include every bet?
Yes, for that account. Every wager is placed on the account, so the annual statement covers all play there. It does not include play on another operator or a second account, and it is not the W-2G: a W-2G reports one reportable win, and the IRS receives a copy of each.
Is the BetMGM win/loss statement enough for my return?
Not on its own. The IRS asks for a contemporaneous diary of winnings and losses supported by records, and the statement is one of those records. Statements from every operator you used, the W-2Gs and 1099s, and your own log together let a preparer show winnings, show losses, and explain every difference between the documents and the forms the IRS matched.
How do I report BetMGM gambling winnings on my tax return?
You must report all BetMGM gambling winnings as income, typically on Schedule 1 (Form 1040), even if you don't receive a Form W-2G. Gambling losses are deducted separately as an itemized deduction on Schedule A, up to the amount of your winnings, requiring detailed records like win/loss statements and session logs, according to IRS Publication 529.
Can I deduct BetMGM gambling losses?
Yes, recreational gamblers can deduct BetMGM gambling losses as an itemized deduction on Schedule A, but only up to the amount of gambling winnings reported. From tax year 2026, the allowed deduction is the lesser of 90% of total losses or total winnings, as outlined in IRS guidance on gambling income and losses.
